Piilopaikka - event space and sauna in Muhos

Piilopaikka (“Hide Out”) is an atmospheric sauna and hangout space in Muhos, only 30 kilometers from Oulu. The hangout place, suitable for up to 20 people, offers on the one hand a rustic environment, but also modern sauna facilities for your needs. The location of Piilopaikka is related to the famous Finnish story, the Birch and the Star, written by author Sakari Topelius.

Warm up the sauna, sit out the evening, enjoy the food you prepared on the stove or campfire, improve your mental well-being with your group. At Piilopaikka, you feel safe from the storms of the world. In the surrounding forest, you can follow the nature trail to Tervareitistö hiking trail on foot, on a mountain bike or even go to the Topelius memorial stone and back. Let your imagination take you to ancient and past events.

You will be introduced to Piilopaikka’s facilities and functions when you arrive. The interior spaces are also suitable for people with reduced mobility, but in the toilets, people with reduced mobility would need an assistant. Regarding the season and clothing, it is worth noting that the living area is not thermally insulated. Anyway, the open fireplace creates warmth in all seasons!
