The rich bird life of Liminka Bay is the main focus, and at the same time, the life of birds is looked at in a variety of ways. You can study the annual cycle from the birds’ perspective. The starring role is played by the varied bird species of Liminka Bay but the exhibition also explores the life of birds more generally. The exhibition has been designed for families with children. However, it also provides fascinating and topical information for passionate bird enthusiasts and birdwatchers. Upstairs you can find a place for children ’the Bird’s Nest’, where you can listen fairy tales. At Nature Centre also changing exhibitions are presented.
The Liminka Bay Nature Centre serves visitors right next to the best birdwatching spots. In addition to the interesting exhibition, Liminka Bay Resort offers guide and restaurant services, a souvenir shop, a small nature hotel, an auditorium for 80 people, nature school and other meeting facilities. A 600-metre-long wheelchair and pram-accessible path takes visitors to the two-storey Virkkula birdwatching tower. The area has several firepits, nature trails and a small playground for children.
